Just 40 minutes from Quepos, the pristine rainforest of Naranjito offers an extraordinary opportunity to observe Costa Rica’s vibrant birdlife. This 4-hour walk through gravel roads, cattle farms, and lush rainforest combines scenic beauty with incredible biodiversity — the perfect setting for bird enthusiasts of all ages.

With over 250 identified species in the area, you can expect to spot a dazzling variety of birds in different shapes, sizes, and colors. Look for the Black-Mandibled Toucan, White-Throated Shrike-Tanager, Short-Tailed Hawk, tanagers, hummingbirds, trogons, and more. It’s not unusual to identify over 70 species in a single morning!

Children especially love this experience — watching birds they’ve only seen in books come to life right before their eyes. For an added touch, guests may opt to enjoy a traditional Costa Rican wood-fired lunch (not included).
